TREY’s bio
Trey Jarvis was born in South Central Los Angeles, but mostly grew up in Orange County. At 19, he left home to join the Marine Corps and was stationed at MCAS Tustin as a helicopter avionics technician. After deployments to Okinawa and the Philippines, he headed to the Persian Gulf for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Following his six-year stint in the Marines, Trey made a move into the entertainment business, working for a talent manager, interning at an alternative radio station, and booking a few background extra gigs. He attended UCLA’s Entertainment Studies Program, focusing on sitcom and sketch comedy writing. Trey once performed stand-up at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip and has studied improv at The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade in LA.
In the late-90’s, he started his own Mobile DJ business (Boogie Down Entertainment) and began spinning tunes at weddings, school dances, corporate functions, and Neiman-Marcus fashion shows. One of his DJ career highlights was getting actor Morgan Freeman out on the dance floor with Nelly’s “Hot in Here” at a Malibu beach house party.
Trey later took a job as a recruiter and marketing coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County in the early 2000’s. This is also where he learned the ins and outs of the nonprofit sector, which gave him a strong foundation that he still draws from today.
After several years at BBBSOC, Trey ventured out to work for himself as a freelance graphic designer, event consultant, and auctioneer. As a benefit auctioneer, Trey has raised millions of dollars for nonprofit organizations throughout SoCal. He’s enjoyed sharing the stage with the likes of Sammy Hagar, Sugar Ray Leonard, Andrea Bocelli, Cyndi Lauper, Tony Hawk, Lauren Daigle, Billy Idol, and Magic Johnson – just to name a few. Trey has also done voiceover work, including radio commercial spots for Boot Barn and corporate training narrations for Honda, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
He’s a diehard Lakers, Dodgers, and Dallas Cowboys fan. His musical taste ranges from Tupac to Johnny Cash to Metallica, and his two favorite movies are Napoleon Dynamite and Shawshank Redemption.
Trey spends some of his free time volunteering with Team Rubicon Disaster Response as a chainsaw operator, assisting with wildfire and hurricane recovery operations from coast to coast, and also helps out at a local horse rescue. He’s the proud father of an amazing son, Anthony – a recent CSULB grad, EMT, and up-and-coming real estate professional. Trey currently resides in Seal Beach, California.
